Too many good business ideas end up sitting in a drawer.
Not because they lack potential, but because they are not tested quickly enough, there isn’t sufficient support for commercialization, and early-stage resources are missing.
That is why the Draft Program exists.
Applications are now open in North Savo for a program where the focus is not on ideation, but on building the first functional version of a business idea, testing it, and moving it toward commercialization. Not just planning but execution.
What does this mean in practice?
• Coaching from experts and confidential feedback
• A community where teams develop their ideas alongside others
• Opportunity for up to €4,000 in funding
• A clear and structured model for progressing from idea to execution
The impact is already visible:
In recent years, 159 teams have participated in the program, with 7–11 teams per round receiving funding. These ideas have led to new companies, products, and funding rounds.
Who is the program for?
Teams that already have an initial business idea and the willingness to test its viability in practice.
You can apply if your team includes at least one person who:
• is a student, alumni, or staff member of Karelia, Riveria, Samiedu, Savo Vocational College, Savonia, XAMK, or UEF
OR
• is officially residing in Kuopio, Iisalmi, Varkaus, or Savonlinna
Additionally:
• The team must have at least 2 members
• The company does not need to be established yet
• The business must not yet be actively operating
• The idea should aim at something new or innovative
Applying is simple:
Submit your application by April 27, 2026
Selected teams will pitch their business idea to a jury.
