Havuja Hack 26.-28.1.2024
Welcome to an exciting weekend of innovation and fun!
We’re calling on everyone, from any background and field, to join us in crafting new ideas, apps, services, and games. Bring your own challenges or jump into the ones we provide. Using your personal computer is the way to go, but if you’re into board games or other physical stuff, that’s cool too.
This event is all about making connections, learning new stuff, playing, and most of all, having a great time!

What is Havuja Hack?
Havuja Hack is a hackathon event brought to life by Business Center North Savo and its partners. It’s an event where individuals from any background are encouraged to turn ideas into reality, innovate, and simply have fun.
The event is twofold, including the hackathon and Kuopio Global Game Jam. The game jam part is collaboration with the local game developers’ association, IGDA Kuopio Hub, and Finnish Game Jam association.
What is a hackathon and Global Game Jam?
A hackathon is an intensive, collaborative event where tech enthusiasts such as programmers, designers, and developers collaborate intensively to create new software or tackle challenges.
The Global Game Jam is a worldwide game development event inviting game designers and enthusiasts to create digital or analog games in a single weekend.
The Flow of the Event
- Opening: Introducing the hackathon challenges and unveiling the game jam theme.
- Team Up: Participants form teams and get settled at their workstations.
- Create: Teams dive into their chosen challenges or games, working together and taking part in event’s program.
- Closing: The event concludes with teams presenting and submitting their projects
